I spent some time working over the Kershaw knife. First, I filed off the first "step" of the thumb stud. It took about ten minutes to get it right. This is the "before" picture:

I almost, but not quite, broke into the tapped hole inside the stud. I was somewhat concerned that the screw holding it in was quite loose. That was fixed by using loctite. The blade is countersunk on one side for the screw thread, making switching things to the other side for left-handers impractical. This is the "after" view:

The knife will also take more work to put an acceptabled edge on it. None of this was needed on the late, lamented CRKT Sampson. Evaluation is continuing.
