Exciting news for fans of the Lord of the Rings scores! Found this posted on a movie music message board...

There IS, in fact, a box set of all the music from the trilogy in the works. Shore said it will likely be 2 discs of Fellowship, 3 of the Two Towers, and 3 of Return of the King. A 9th disc (possibily a DVD) featuring some rare material (along the lines of the extended edition DVD appendices - looks at the scoring process, themes that didn’t make it into the movie, etc.) is also tentatively scheduled to be part of the release. He didn’t give a release date for it, but nonetheless, exciting news.
