Beyond that I have access to a small-town library system which isn't as good as what a big city or major college would have but allows me general access to a lot of stuff.

When it comes to books, I can end up learning more with a smaller library --- it forces me to go into subjects or authors I wouldn't have if I'd had more choice.

Why do you ask?--did you have a book to recommend?

I probably will eventually. But actually I was thinking about music.

BTW if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

Oh, that's what you meant--doh! :) I haven't checked what the library here has as far as music. I own a small but decent set of tapes and CDs that I usually put on if I want to listen to something.
