I asked a lady to marry me over the weekend. She said yes. We have known each other about 6 weeks, dated 2. This is crazy, I know but we both felt it was right and I need God to lead the way. Please pray for us, Jerry and Dorothy. Pray that the pending issues will be resolved.

Are you insane? Were you raised in a barn? We use manners on this forum. Don't like it? Go hang out at Salon, please.

My husband and I were best friends--just friends--then he went into the Army. He asked me to marry him in a letter. Six months later we got married without ever having dated. Next month we celebrate our 13th anniversary.

Sounds alot like my story, we just hit 10 yrs on the 19th. I have never been happier. I love him more now than I ever thought I could. (Even after the 2 demons he planted in me!)

You asked her too soon and she said yes too soon, IMO. Wait about a year.

Thank you for your concern but God told me you were an idiot. Seriously He said you were a jerk but I did not want to hurt your feelings.

I have asked God to go before us through this entire process and will not ask Him to step out now. We will have pre-marital counciling but you have to remember we have been married most of our lives just not to each other and we know what went wrong and will not let it happen again.
I get plenty of strange looks when I tell people, ladies are usually very happy, guys just shake their heads.

Ahhh now you explained it a little better to me. I had no idea you guys were married before. So you two know what it's about. Thanks for clarifying that. Heck then I say go ahead. Just make sure you get all the kinks straightened out so that this can go forward without a hitch. You don't want to bring anything into the new marriage that could have been straightened out beforehand. Congrats and good luck. Oh by the way I am female and I am glad you explained it to me so I could understand why you guys are doing it so quickly. Good luck and my best wishes to the two of you. :-)

Here is the deal, if we had decided to move in together after 6 weeks nobody would have said a word but get engaged and wow what an uproar. As far as having sex, we will wait until we are married. So you see, society says it is ok to jump into bed but not to get engaged.......I just do not agree.
BTW, I got my tax check in the mail yesterday and it paid for the rings which we had planned to pick out last night anyway. I do not believe in accidents, God is in this, sorry if you can see it too and share our happiness.
Please continue to remember us in prayer.

The thought has run through my mind but waiting 6 months should give me an indication although I might be dead by then.

I asked a lady to marry me over the weekend. She said yes. We have known each other about 6 weeks, dated 2.You've known each other far too long for things to work out. Stuff gets stale in 2 to 6 weeks. If you can't marry someone within hours of meeting, you weren't meant to be together.
Dump her and get someone you really don't know.
