By the way (off topic) has anybody heard where Koby Bryant was traded to? I heard the rumor from a fairly reliable source on the radio yesterday, but there is apparently a blackout on any non-All-Star-relevant NBA news going on right now.

Soriano in center? Makes sense..... who plays short?

I do like the thought of Young, Soriano and Blaylock hitting back-to-back-to back.

Jeter has lost most of his range. ARod is a much better shortstop. It would be typical of the self-centered Jeter to not want to move.

I would not concede anything to the Yankees just because they have ARod. The Redsox are much stronger than last year.

Any abuse should come my way.

Do you want the 5-minute version, or the full 30 minutes?

:)

Who plays second now? Not that it really matters. What an infield.

"Who" plays 1st. ;^)

Ah, what a great Red Sox-crushing day this is.

Please, you guys have waived goodbye to over 50 wins in the loss of Clemens, Pettitte and Wells.

Let me know how football's going in October, becuase I'll be watching the Red Sox.

Enjoy third place.

They might give Drew Myers a chance at that shortstop position.
Personally I think this a good move for the Rangers, especially money-wise.
If we could only move Chan Hopeless Park...

Uh, Schilling can only pitch once every 4 or 5 days, but Keith Foulke was a good add-on. And I actually wonder if Jeter to third isn't a better move, but we'll see...

From MLB.com....
Report: A-Rod headed to Yanks
By Mark Feinsand / MLB.com

Alex Rodriguez talks to reporters in New York last month. (Kathy Willens/AP)

NEW YORK -- After a winter of heavy speculation that Alex Rodriguez would wind up playing for the Boston Red Sox, the reigning American League MVP may finally be traded after all -- to the New York Yankees.
Newsday reported on Saturday that the Yankees and Texas Rangers have "an agreement in principle" that will bring Rodriguez to the Bronx in exchange for second baseman Alfonso Soriano and a minor-league pitcher.

According to the report, no announcement is expected on Saturday, as the two sides work out some "very minor technical details." A source told the paper that all sides remain confident that everything will be finalized within a few days.

Reports of a possible deal first surfaced on Saturday morning in the New York Post and Newsday, as both papers indicated that the two teams had been holding discussions to send the seven-time All-Star to New York.

The Rangers could also send cash considerations back to the Yankees, to help pay for the remaining $189 million on Rodriguez's contract. Rodriguez, 28, is owed $189 million over the next seven years, though he can opt out of his deal after the 2007 season.

Yankees brass have been in closed-door meetings through much of the week at Yankee Stadium, as New York looks to fill the third-base void left by Aaron Boone's ACL injury. Newsday reports that Rodriguez, who wants to play for a winner, would be willing to move to third base, allowing Derek Jeter to remain at shortstop.

Bet it's not the Denver Nuggets.

Sportsline.com reports that Kobe is saying he won't return to the Lakers next year. That would tend to launch a trade, but there's nothing about that there.

This is getting ridiculous. Texas is taking it up the a$$ on this deal. Anyone who actually pays for a ticket to see the Rangers this year is a moron.
