I've never heard of Catholic Sunday school, either. It's usually called CCD, but I think usually it's not during Mass. Most Catholic kids go to Catholic school and get religious education there, but if not, CCD during the week.

It usually takes place after Mass on Sunday. Actually, we called it catechism.
