If Gibson believes what the article says he believes, he is a Feeneyite, i.e., a heretic.

I thought Feeney was kicked out of the Church because of his disobedience, not because of his views. In any case, they let him back in.

Whatever the actual reason for his excommunication, it was Feeneyism, not Feeney's actions, that were roundly condemned in the letter the Holy Office sent to Cushing in 1949.
