Hey, Sam...

I thought about hiring a guide...just to take me out for say, 4 hours...just to get an idea of what I need to do. I don't want him to sing to me or tell me any tales or stories...I just want him to teach me what to do. What kind of equipement to get to catch a big paddlefish or catfish.

You think that's a good idea?

Then I figure for special occassions...We could rent a boat!

Not now, of course...but someday in the future after Steve finishes school.

Yes, 2J, I think guides, even though expensive, can be a good idea, because you can learn more in a couple hours from a good one than you might in years otherwise. After all, the guy is there fishing most every day, and if he weren't good at it, he wouldn't be able to stay in business.

Yeah, it can be money well spent, IMO, you might learn things that could pay off forever.

But there are good and bad guides, so ask around a little.

A paddlefish!
That would be cool, those things are so primevil looking.
