You're in Wisconson? I have relatives in Tomah and Sparta. We used to drive past there periodically when visiting my grandparents and uncle :) My grandparents on my Dad's side are from just a bit north of Eau Claire; my Dad's brother lived down by LaCrosse for a while but is back up in Eau Claire now. My Mom's ancestors were from the Door County peninsula, but moved down to Milwaukee, which is where I grew up. Now I'm back up in Door County, about 70 miles east of Green Bay.

I have never been that far north. As the story goes, my grandfather and his brothers were all from Coplay, PA. Each one left, one to Tomah, Wisconson, one to Williamsburg, Virginia, and one (my grandfather) to Philadelphia, Mississippi. The brothers never returned to PA (except to attend their mother's funeral). So, my dad's first cousin and their kiddos are all still up there.
Uncle Sylvester met his bride in LaCrosse.
