Yeah, it was long for me, too, the first couple times! The last time I read through it I found it helped a lot to guide myself through the text using the illustrated summaries in Karen Wynn Fonstad's Atlas of Middle-Earth and David Day's Tolkien Bestiary. Made it easier to visualize what was going on.

Is anyone else having any problems with Internet Explorer?
I've had nothing but problems for about a week now and finally down loaded Netscape7.1

I.E. would only let me have open one window at a time. The address bar would not remember web sites I had visited for quick reference and "My Favorites" lost everything in it and would not let me book mark any more.

So far I am having no problems with Netscape.
