Evening Hair; woohoo, the barge and rocks, been waiting to see that operation. Thanks for the pics. btw, glad all your permits are in order, kinda hard to hide the barge when the white pickup guys (COE) start cruising. :-)

Indeed! - it is harder to sneak this in than building an unpermitted shed out back.

Ahhh.... - more pics Dad just sent... and his email description...

RE: Perspectives:

They've left for the day. Broke a gear in the claw while trying to set up the first ramp. On the VCR tape you can see the leaked gear oil or hydraulic fluid on the ramp as he swung away. This shut them down until it gets fixed which Brian says will happen in the morning - take about an hour to fix. I taped the arrival without moving, pausing or stopping the tape and it came out good, though the sound didn't pick up as well as I thought it would. Little too far away for the microphone. But it's a good tape that shows them pulling in, positioning and re-positioning in actual uninterrupted flow.

Too bad it was such a dark gloomy day - shows in the pics. The more distant I got the darker they got and not worth sending. Also, the tide kept me from getting shots from Evelyn's side.

From the distance of the boathouse the rocks look different than they did up close in the quarry. A big difference is they were dry in the quarry and now they're wet - and much darker looking wet than dry. Anxious to see them up close and in place.

While they were fiddling with the broken claw I disconnected the section of the walkway that has to be moved out of the way. With any luck it's ready to be lifted out unless I missed something.

More tomorrow... bust a little concrete... toss a few rocks around...
