Heh...the Mrs. has been known to vacuum Jr's room while he was asleep.
It's been the same with us with potty training Luke. Yes, I know he just turned four and that most "normal" kids are trained much sooner. He was probably ready last year around the time my f-i-l died. But things were too chaotic to work on it then. We've known for months that he knew what to do and just plain didn't want to.
He's crossed that bridge now. Stayed dry at the circus, even tho we put him in a pull-up for insurance purposes. But his mom took him there. And on the way home when we stopped at Walmart he volunteered "I need to go in an use their potty."
Kids develop at different rates and kids have normal needs. They don't all follow the format in the textbooks.
Doesn't it just make you so proud? I mean seriously...I'm not kidding...don't you know what a breakthrough that is for your little one? I imagine I'll feel the same way when my kids graduate from college! My heart just rejoiced for my boys when they finally reached that hurdle.
I'm a bit of sap though, when it comes to these jedis.
