The boys got hungry early, so I just now made them an early lunch. Matthew was at the table working on his Language Arts and I cleared his work away and put a grilled cheese sandwich down for him. He said "Oh this is the life! If I was in public school, I'd be having to think about the long line I was gonna have to stand in to eat!" I laughed and recounted the only real FIGHT I got in when I was in elementary school, maybe 4th grade...

A kid named Randy Voss cut in front of me in the lunch line. I didn't hit him or anything, but I just grabbed him by his flaming red hair and bent him over backwards. He hollered and thrashed till a teacher came up to me and glared at me. I just held tight and glared back. A few minutes later, that teacher gave me three licks with a paddle in the office.

I laughed and said to Matthew "Funny thing is, by the time we graduated, Randy and I were pretty good friends!" Matthew replied "I bet he wasn't your friend, really...he was probably just scared of you."
