You know, actually, that guy is the mirror image of the conservatives who were afraid Clinton would use Y2K as an excuse to declare martial law and suspend elections.

There was a time when I would have thought a similar thing. Sure, there was a lot to fear from Clinton that never materialized... but there's a huge difference.

These people actually *want* bad things to happen to the U.S. in order to make Bush look bad. They would actively help such things happen.

I didn't like Clinton, and I thought him capable of all manner of things, but I would never have considered doing ill to my fellow Americans just to make him look bad. These people are actively researching how to do just that to Bush.

I understand... but I remember reading some things back then from people who seemed just a little too excited at the prospect of exercising their survival skills should the worst happen, if you know what I mean.

I think some people always hope for the worst, no matter what their political leanings.
