These people really *really* think that Ashcroft is the reincarnation of Torquemada.

Geez... when people that that irrational is there really any hope in argument?

I have found not much hope in argument. I still do it though. Ashcroft is truly an admirable man IMO. What really ticks me off is having discussions with Christians who want him persecuted.

Good friend here, the teacher who subbed for me while I went to entmoot, he's a deacon and Sunday School teacher at one of the larger Baptist churches here. And he thinks Bush and Ashcroft are evil incarnate. I don't get it. Have been arguing this with him since I moved here.

I guess non-Christians it strikes me more as skewed politics and ignorrance. But, from Christians who *should* know how to recognize Biblical values and read the signs, I just can't get my mind around this.
