Huh? paralyzed in both arms? What's this about?
To: Ramius
Um... guess you didn't know either. I broke my neck in 1990. I am dangerous only when I walk. Never broke any bones any other way.
Anyway, it messed up my arms... specially the left one. Couldn't feel anything at all in it for over a year. Lotsa doctors, lotsa crap, I've shared my view of the medical community with you.
Long story short.... neurosurgeon says I should have surgery on the neck. I had only a 5% chance of improvement, but there was a 50% chance that there would be no change. Okay.... do the math. And figure out the 3rd option! I didn't do it. Anyway, concensus was I would be without the use of both arms within 5 years of the accident.
I prayed about it. Decided they were wrong. I was still using both arms I just couldn't feel a lot. Figured if I kept using them and didn't just give up I wouldn't lose 'em. Lotsa pain back then. Had morphine for that.
Okay, you've seen me. Now, would you have ever guessed?
Oh, and only very rarely do I get numbness in my hands or fingers now. Uhhhh... had some after the back of my head got conked Saturday before last - for about 3 days... but that was totally explainable.
