I just want to rest. And read, maybe.

Has anyone here ever had a sinus infection? I never have...but I'm wondering if I've got one now. Have had MUCHO pressure below my eyes and around my nose over the last few days, and ear pain, too. Could that be?

I'm hoping it's just pain because of dry air, but seems like that wouldn't cause pressure.

There is a bug going around that seems to target the sinuses. Plenty of folks around here have or have had it already.

I drink lots of green tea and take echinacea (sp?). Seems to knock it out quicker.

Oh yeah, and Tylenol Sinus works great for quick relief!!

I think I'm going home now....

See you all later!

Dry hot air cracks the sinus mucous membranes and allows infection to enter the cracks. Very likely. Always humidify when running a heater.

I have, many times. The clincher will be when you blow thick green goo out of your nose. Or maybe flourescent yellow. Or brown. Until then, it may just be regular congestion. Sudafed works good, and it's non-drying. Regular antihistamines tend to dry the nasal passages, which can make an infection more likely, or worse if you already have one.

Oh yes, I have had several sinus infections over the years. In addition to the pain, it is impossible to breathe through the nose. I would recommend getting an expectorant and decongestant, like you find in Robitussin. My understanding is that the expectorant thins the mucus, and the decongestant helps it drain.

Once the infection starts to clear, you will begin blowing out big chunks of think greenish-yellowish-brownish gunk... and I often gets pieces of what looks like blood vessel.

Oh, and if you have a humidifier, get it cranked up.

Hope it gets better soon, Rosie. That stuff ain't any fun.
