Annie is very quiet tonight, and sleeping on the stack of clean blankets (I'm preparing for the ice storm) with her back to us.

She knew Sam was very sick and kept brushing up against her this morning, Sammy didn't have the energy to respond. Annie was watching from the upstairs window as we walked Sammy to the vet's office.... LSA

Was just reading back into the thread, trying to make a little sense of it. I saw the news about Samantha, am very sad and sorry. We put our old lab to sleep a couple years ago, so I understand something of the feeling. They are good old dogs.

Perhaps, wherever she is, she can takes some pleasure in your reminiscences, they are like poetry. I'll raise a pint to her next time I have one in hand, this evening perhaps.
