Ray Munson, a founding judge of the State Court of Appeals who retired in 1997, died Sunday in Seattle. He was 76.
Munson, a Sunnyside native who wrote nearly one-fourth of the opinions issued by the court's Spo-kane-based division during his 28 years on the appeals bench, was recalled by friends and family as being dedicated to justice and detailed in the research leading to his rulings.
