I'll tell ya, g'nad and his family live just a little while...less than half a day's journey, from me.
And that, Fedora, is a very comforting thought.
If I ever have to leave in a quick way to get away from harm, that's where I'm taking my family!

yes... alot more... I still shoot muh crossbow, rifles, shotguns and pistols... got my own range on the homestead...Sounds nice! :) I'd like to try crossbow, too. What do you have to do differently when aiming that vs. a bow?

And I've read all those Patrick O'Brian books, which are set in the early 19th. Have you read Bernard Cornwell's books about Richard Sharpe, the British rifleman during the Napoleanic Wars? I liked those, and I especially liked the film adaptations because they starred SEAN BEAN!

EEK! Elf-boy was born half-grown! My mom teased me saying that I gave birth to a three month old!

Thanks for passing on the info about Steve. I was thinking about him this morning cause I hadn't seen any posts from him for a couple of days.

Haven't been here much myself, and I'll probably not get on too much in the near future. We're gearing up to do the addition on the house so I'll be busy tracking down materials prices, etc. It's gonna be busy, but I'm looking forward to it!

If I ever have to leave in a quick way to get away from harm, that's where I'm taking my family!Kind of reminds me of when Saruman took over the Shire and a lot of the good Hobbits took refuge in the Green Hills in Tookland where the Hobbit archers were holed up! :) "Awake! Awake! Fear, Fire, Foes!" :)

Heh, that's what the gang did at Entmoot!Too bad I missed that--sounds like it was fun!--except for the insect bites or whatever they were that everybody was complaining about the other day :)

That's neat that you get to read the photocopies with the original ads! I find the ads of old magazines and comics can be half the fun :)

"Have you read Bernard Cornwell's books about Richard Sharpe" No, but I'll get one and try it...your last book recommendation was excellent.

Just finished Bernard Cornwell's book Heretic about an English archer during the 1300s... great read... oh, and I can recommend the Sharpe's series too...

Wow Suzi! That's exciting that it's time to do your home addition now! I know you're gonna have fun and love it. You'll have to drop in and keep us up to date sometimes at least.
I've had the first breathing spell today that I've had in a couple of weeks. I'm watching The Long Kiss Goodnight. I'm not gonna get the whole thing. Gotta go back to work in half an hour and she just got through going blonde again.
I like this movie. I'm glad you showed it to me! :-)

I'm leaving for the Passion in about an hour and a half. I'm really anxious about it.
I need to finish spiffing up the house.
I'll Be Bock.
