Yes it is pretty quiet.
Must be Friday or something.
The weekend beginning blahs or something.

When it came on the radio at my old job, we always sang "Shimmy Shimmy Cocoa Puffs". But then we were always changing the lyrics to everything anyway. For instance,

Don't go out tonight
Or it's bound to take your life
There's a bathroom on the right. . .

From Dictionary.com:

con·nip·tion n. Informal A fit of violent emotion, such as anger or panic. Also called conniption fit.

So, are you angry you didn't get 1st row tickets...? ;)

What does dictionary.com say about pedantic?

Just kidding.... I'm a word-Nazi myself...

Ah! But a violent emotion could also be someone freaking out with joy, jumping and leaping about, screaming at the top of their lungs, couldn't it?

I could definitely injure somebody in the state I'm in right now! :-)

OK, OK... I've only ever seen the word "conniption" used in a negative sense. Never thought of a conniption of happiness before!

Please don't injure anyone, Ruthy! ;)

I'm trying not to, Bear! Honest I am!

I'm so thrilled about it that it's hard not to run around injuring people in my exuberance.

Conniption, in my experience, has a usually negative sense. I suppose it could be positive... like you might say you had a "fit" of happiness.

Is it four o'clock yet?

Everyone else went home. They left me alllll alone. *snif*

I'll probably head out in five or ten minutes. The phone hasn't rung more than two or three times since lunch. I'm really, really bored.

Me, too! I'm distracting myself by looking up passages on the Boromir/Faramir/Denethor thing right now. I just noticed that Boromir's introduction emphasizes his nobility, which fits with what we were saying: "And seated a little apart was a tall man with a fair and noble face dark-haired and grey-eyed, proud and stern of glance. . ."

Boromir doesn't understand winning by any means other than military force, though. He's brave and powerful, but not too bright. ;-)

I'm bored too, and busy. Just busy in a mind-numbing fashion which will probably keep me here until 7. Ugh.

Hmm... shall we start bashing Boromir for fun?

"Were you not at the Council?" answered Frodo. "Because we cannot use it, and what is done with it turns to evil."

Boromir got up and walked about impatiently. . .

:)

When do you have to leave for Detroit? Before Monday?

I should really spend the weekend decluttering. I HATE decluttering.

Duh!

I think I actually like the movie Boromir a little better in some ways. He was even ruder and more impatient in the book at times!
