Sorry to hear that your day off may be tedious. I can understand that with your location. We're here when you can get online. I'm having a bit of trouble staying connected to the server this morning myself though.

"got some more fish wrap (aka KC Star)"

That's the paper Hemingway wrote for, if I remember right.

Arrgghh..I remember the rain and the cold in Saudi in the middle of a desert. We had to dig a moat around our tent so the water won't come into the tent, it was that bad.

..and the cold, especially at night. Had to get that fuel stove on all night...

Steve..Keep warm, keep safe. What would we do without Gandalf! LoL

KANSAS CITY STAR
Roger Miller

Got a letter just this mornin' it was postmarked Omaha
It was typed and neatly written offerin' me this better job
Better job at higher wages, expenses paid and a car
But I'm on TV here locally and I can't quit, I'm a star

Hah-ha I come on the TV a-grinnin,' wearin' pistols and a hat
It's a kiddy show and I'm a hero of the younger set
I'm the number one attraction at every supermarket parkin' lot
I'm the king of Kansas City, no thanks, Omaha, thanks a lot

Kansas City star, that's what I are
Yodel-leedle lay-dee, you oughta see my car
I drive a big old Cadillac with wire wheels,
Got rhinestones on the spokes
I got credit down at the grocery store
And my barber tells me jokes
I'm the number one attraction at every supermarket parkin' lot
I'm the king of Kansas City, no thanks to Omaha, thanks a lot

SPOKEN: Stay tuned, we're gonna have a popeye cartoon in a minute

I forgot about that weirdo, Roger Miller. I actually had an LP of his back in college days.

I think I like Tom T Hall better as a story telling singer.
Remember that song with the refrain about the meaning of life, which was interpreted as follows:

"Faster horses
Younger women
Older whiskey...
and more money"

yeah... but the song kinduh loses my support when the rump-rangers sang it and made it the anthem of the buut-pirates...

I prefer Let the Bodies Hit the Floor by Deadpool...

I think we were told to take our field jackets, although some didn't and they paid for it. All deserts are not the same!

Marines didn't have stoves? Dude...What was up with that?

..as the song We will Rock you...that was back in the early 1980's correct? I was in high school..full of rebellion..lol

Go Pats! (Rather them than the Panthers!)
