I remember taking my grandmother shopping once when she was very old and delicate like this lady was. I forgot I was in the automatic shift car and pressed the "clutch" hard, which was the break. Oops! Threw my poor grandmother into the floorboard! (This was before manditory seatbelts, you know.)Ouch!--hope she wasn't hurt! Yeah, older people who have that type of physical disability aren't the ones who are problematic to deal with. It's when they have a bad attitude to go with it, like the cases you were describing, that it becomes more irritating. My perspective on it is that people who have bad habits when they're younger tend to become ingrained in them as they get older, so if they're bossy or pushy or cranky or stubborn or whatever when they're younger they tend to become really bossy, etc. when they're older. But then like you say, for every person like that there's also a sweet old lady or kind elderly gentleman.

Well, I'm off to battle a dragon...
Sigh, actually I wish I could disappear, instead of being stuck at the office for another hour-plus. At least, it's not dark out yet. When it stays light until 8, I'll be happy.

Dragon's too boring to focus 100% on. You've got at least 5% of my attention, and with as much brainpower as I've got, it should be plenty.
Hmmm... either I'm just kidding, or I'm getting way too good at looking at the world from a pompous perspective (only way of surviving college that I've found so far).

5%--that's pretty good, if it's true we only use 10% of our brains at a given time! :) So I take it that your dragon-slaying reference wasn't a metaphor for going home yet, then. What are you working on, anyway?

Building configurators - low-end "expert systems". It's actually mildly cool, this is definitely the best part of my job. But it gets dull after a while, like when we're down to the nitpicking.
If you're really, really interested I can freepmail you a link to some of our web demo stuff.

Little girl in my neighborhood rides by on her bike now and then with a pink zip-up sweatshirt on...gotta duck just like these stuffed in the front, riding along with her, head sticking out under her chin!
It's the funniest thing.

Actually push-ups would be fine! I just don't know that many ways to use 'em.
I've heard of the resistance strap thing...I'm going to bookmark that site for later viewing.
Mostly I just want to get stronger, especially my upper arms and shoulders. I actually get something of a wrist and lower arm workout from playing music, believe it or not! I can feel it if I don't play for a bit and come back to it. But I'm weak otherwise.

I assume this is gonna get easier as time goes on, but boy! It's hard.
I DO think I'm getting stronger, though.
