Let me tell you about Corey, seriously. There isn't a finer kid around. He's a good soldier, or he's going to be a one, and soon. That's how I see him mostly. He has some troubling issues, when it comes to women. He was abandoned as a baby, literally, on the doorstep of the wonderful people who have raised him since. I think he feeds on feminine attention and approval like a hungry maw. He meets a nice girl and just when things are going well, she finds him with another one playing smoochy face. Then he whines to his friends, and me, that he can't find/keep a nice girlfriend. Lots of loosy goofies fawning over him. But none he really is interested in. The nice girls don't want anything to do with him. It is really sad.

Oh, dear. That's aggravating. How is kitty doing?

I FINALLY managed to track down an insurance appraiser for the damage to my car from that accident I had weeks ago. Got an estimate and faxed it to the repair shop... I should be able to get my pretty little car fixed while I'm in Colorado, but argh, that was obnoxious.

In better news all my arrangemnets for the Colorado trip are made and I get to meet with enough people that I'll definitely be able to decide whether to attend. And, it's Wednesday. Halfway through the week. Just have to work for another three hours, go home, exercise, and do homework for tomorrow.

She's fine! I think I'm far more upset about this than she is. But it bugs me that they've done this twice.

I'm also already in a tense mood 'cause the bank switched my mailing address without my ever asking it, and all my statements have been going to Dad! This in spite of the fact that he doesn't have an account at the bank and I've never lived at that address since I had the bank account, at least not long enough to use it as a mailing address. And I had to fill out and sign a form to get it switched back! So...they can switch it arbitrarily without my permission, but *I* need to fill out a fancy schmancy form with ID and signature verification? DUH!

Didn't you tell us about that at Entmoot? Why'd they do it, anyway?

One of these days Corey's gonna have to come to grips with whether he wants to find a nice girl or keep playin' smoochy face with every one he runs into! But, ya know, he is a kid! He can grow out of that. He has a good family and he is a nice kid. Well, maybe not to his girlfriends but overall he's a sweet kid. He'll grow up... one of these days. :-)

They just said "Oh, that's odd", but didn't know why it had happened. I finally got it straightened out today. Couldn't do it via a phone call, and it's not something I can easily do via the drive through...so it took me awhile to get over there and do it. If it hadn't been Dad's address I woulda gotten to it more quickly...but I still want to know how and why it happened! What if my bank statements had been going to some stranger?

I have the oddest luck sometimes.

That definitely is odd! I'm not thinking yet about all the stuff I'm going to have to do to move... not until August - wow, that's not too many more months! Things happen fast...

It's coming right up!

I can't wait for summer...

I should go work out. Soon, anyway.

Hope I can make it through this time! I almost didn't last time.

Let me know how you do! You may have to kick me later this evening - I have a feeling I'm going to want to go home and sit.

This accountability thing is helping a lot, really!

At least I get to listen to Harry Potter. Of course, this probably means that forever afterwards, the parts that I heard while doing the longer run intervals will bring back memories of pain and having trouble catching my breath...

Oh...I tell ya, I've had another one of those days...

First let me begin by going back to when I was working for the Dole campaign...I was registering voters at my church when this elderly woman came up to me and just screamed in my face about how wonderful Bill Clinton was and on and on... I didn't say a word.

Then the other day, when I was having my taxes done, I signed in, right? Then this elderly woman comes in and signs in and then just bawls me out for not respecting the elderly and letting her go first.

Then I go to church...g'nad, you know how we're learning about how important fellowship is as part of the purpose of the Body of Christ, right? Well, it was a wonderful sermon and Steve and I left so uplifted...went to back out of our parking place and this elderly woman just laid down on her horn and zipped her Lincoln in behind us so we couldn't back out...sigh...

Then today...for the second time this week, an elderly woman cut RIGHT in front of me as I was approaching the checkout line at Walmart...the one the other day just ignored me like I wasn't there. The lady today turned to me (with her full basket), glanced at the pair of shorts in my basket and said "I'm in a hurry."

What is it with so many elderly women??? Why do they have to be so insufferable!?? I know not all are, but heavens, it seems like I get my undo share of encounters with those that are!

Heh, my personal Harry Potter memories are much more pleasant - the last three books, I have read aloud to my sibs. It takes more of the weekend every time but it's so rare we're able to do something all together... other than see LotR.

And it's great having a partner, for me, too! I'm going to think about adding in some weight lifting - just for my arms - on Thursdays and Saturdays. My upper body strength is laughable.

Some older people seem to have a "I've lived long enough, the world owes me" attitude. Including most of my grandparents. I try to like older people, because a lot of them are great and have wonderful stories to tell, but unfortunately most of the ones I know now are the sort you've been encountering.

I want to do some weight training, too. Not sure where to start, though, without equipment. There MUST be things besides push-ups that can be done without purchasing anything!

OK, going to change. We'll see how this goes...

Gee! I don't know what to say 2J! I can't say that I've had that many elderly people be rude to me in my whole life! Usually they are nice and sweet and it's the young folks I get ticked at!

And that's not all!

What is it with women's pjs??? Just about ever single pair had some sort of cartoon character on it. For goodness sake, I'm a GROWN FORTY YEAR OLD woman! I don't want no Winnie the Pooh on my PJs! Or glittery "SUPERSTAR" all over the front? Why can't I just find a nice simple pair of PJS????

Looney Toons...PUH-LEEEZ.

I ended up with a simple pair of grey men's workout shorts with the OSU logo on them...that's where Steve goes to school anyway and I have a tee-shirt to match them.

Well, I think you can get small dumbbells pretty cheaply. Then you can at least do simple lifting. I don't know, my parents are fitness buffs and have all the equipment I need.

I've been lucky - have plenty older friends that are wonderful, friendly, generous people! But I've met people like you mention, too, 2J. People that just glare if you smile while getting out of their way at the grocery, and who constantly tell you how to run your life and that if you don't follow their rules, you aren't a good person.

Sorry you had a rough day!

Be back in a bit.
