"...My question is WHY do most conservatives support its criminal status?"

Point number two above --I am concerned about inebriated (yeah, I spelled it wrong the first time -- typo?) people trying to function in the public arena.

When you are responsible for others, and not just for yourself, every source of potential concern that is not under your direct control is an irritant. This may be the singular reason that people tend to become more conservative as they get older.

Many don't. Do a search of War on Drugs threads. You might be surprised to see how many FReepers think the WoD is a waste of energy and resources. Here's a link to get you started.

The first part of my answer addressed that... it is a mind altering drug. Alcohol is also a mind altering drug, and hense regulated (and in some places, banned). All mind altering drugs are regulated to some extent. It appears that you are trying to argue from an Libertarian point of view.

My question is WHY do most conservatives support its criminal status.

I don't. Hubby doesn't. Judge Gray here in Orange County, California doesn't (I don't know if he's a conservative or not, I just like the way he thinks).

So, I think your question is one of those, "When did you start beating your wife?" type questions.

There are a lot of big-time fire-eating WOD types that frequent this site and they are VERY frequent posters. They don't know how to say their peace and let it go, they are the ones who post over and over and over again. So it may seem like most posters here support criminal status and probably the majority do, but not all, no not all.

And by the way, if you've got time to smoke pot, you've got way too much time on your hands. The schools these days really don't know how to challenge a person, do they?
