once women knew I was Republican, I couldn't get a date, much less anything more. I had one woman break it off with me with the excuse "But I had no idea you were such a REPUBLICAN". . .heck, half the personals in "Washingtonian" read "No Republicans". But, why would you even want to bother with those worthless ditzes? "Be ye not unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship hath light with darknesss?"
Once upon a time, I got to do some consciousness raising ob this subject at a local shooting range. As I was packing up to leave, I got to chatting with a fellow, a couple of years younger than myself, who happened to be at the same college. Somewhere along the way he began telling me about his girlfriend... his liberal girlfriend. I tried to show him the implications of his awful decision thus:
"...so suppose you marry the liberal woman, and the two of you have a little boy. And when your little boy is about 6 or so, some stupid drunk driver runs you over and kills you. Now the liberal woman has to raise your little boy the rest of the way, without you. She won't let him have guns, she won't let him hunt - "
He didn't let me finish the sentence. A horrified look came over his face, and he practically shouted at me: "She'd turn him into a total fag!"
I think he got the message. Liberal women are unfit mothers. Since you shouldn't breed from them, don't marry them, and therefore don't date them. Let their evil breed die out. Go for a Russian or Asian or Latina if you have to, but don't EVER get mixed up with an American liberal.

T-99,
As a practical chick, what are your insights on "dating" - the second, third dates, et al., when some things click.
As a bacholor so far, wandering around this fragile coupling arabeque I am concerned with contracting herpes and running afoul of "sperm bandits". I am in Dallas where both are rampant. Lying is an artform.
I have not yet married, no kids, so I have an established estate and desire no divorce court marriages to destroy it. I have felt as if a D&B via Q&A had been run on me by V.P. like 30-40 somethings. Dating has become more awkward and abrasive every year when socializing with bright, successful, usually divorced with one or two kids.
My preference is well educated (degrees or not), well traveled (curious), earthy (feet on the ground and chore willing hands), honest women always with the beauty of self-confidence who believe in marriage for life, the for better or worse and sickness and in health parts, AND understand that abortion is killing. The last one is a tough, soul searching matter, because a woman who chose murdering her unborn is not one in whom I want to trust with my or children's lives.
In my experience, every woman who eventually had "issues" surface had also at some point admitted abortion(s). This Constitutional right I fear is a withering mistake millions upon millions of 25-50 y.o. American women have made, adversely changing their mate-ability.
There are too many parameters in so many dimensions that any feminism/utopian politics is just the third rail. Manners are treacherous. Humor is dangerous. PC is intolerable. Coupling is potentially lethal, metaphorically and literally. Bio-clocks tick like Big Ben and have been negotiated by fourth dates...
I miss the old fashioned honesty of pre-agenda boy meets girl dating when emotional intimacy with honesty preceeded physical/medical "challenges" negotiated around as if they were intimacies.

Must depend on where you live. I am 30, single and disease free, very well educated, my passport actually has some stamps in it, and I read. No children ever, and no abortions ever either.

There are three kinds of single women over 21:
1) Those with kids.
2) Those with over $20K in credit card debt.
3) Those with both.
I am not going to sign up to pay someone else's debts or propagate some other male's DNA.
The only freeking way I am ever going to get married again is if her father pays me a fat dowry to take the unstable creature out of his home and make it productive.

I take it the marriage wasn't coming up roses?

Oh, it was just awful... awful...
She was eventually diagnosed with manic-depression. Not an uncommon thing, apparently.
I'm going to rename it: "Mad Chick Disease". It's catching...

Are you a guy or in truth cyborgette?
I am in Dallas, North Dallas, by mistake I am now certain. I do not like boob job insecurity, very common here.
I am heading west and likely north.
I have had two women on first dates bring up the issue of taking AIDS blood tests. Romance can never be clinical, but romance seems to have everything stacked against it.

I'm 24, and already jaded about things. You, my friend, have the right idea.Well, at 41, I've spent the vast majority of the last 20 or so years alone... I've tried dating, and I suppose that I've gotten a bit jaded and cynical myself... My personal philosophy is "I hate people in general, and women in particular."

I'm a cyborgette :-)
I'd not likely get a boob job. I don't want men staring at my puppies instead of my face.
If a woman is asking about AIDS tests on the first date then I'd not go near her. She is presuming a little too much.

I am not sure what is going on with women in general these days. Society wise, they are getting a lot of mixed messages. While I am not into these psychobabbler beliefs about the power of media, I notice a lot of women trying have their cake and eat it too. Sex and the City will never be real life. I would not want that life. Women view marriage as burden, etc. They wait till they are older then whine that they can't get married.

While I am not into these psychobabbler beliefs about the power of media... I think women are more tuned-in to societal changes and fads. They have to be. It used to be a matter of survival.
Unfortunately, now the fads and fashions are so feminized that women are competing with men--raised by single women--for status and power.
It's not even a 'battle of the sexes' anymore--just a big catfight.

My point is, that right-wing women aren't common in DC, and thus you're stuck with what's left. . . literally. . . .

All the good ladies are just too hard to find, and when you do they're married already. I know some ladies who I would just go gaga over, but they're all spoken for. Of course, no one wants anything to do with a 43 year old divorced male who looks older than he really is. Unfortunately for me, grey hair is prominent in early life. And the beard don't help alleviate that. I had some lady tell me I looked like Kenny Rogers. Still haven't figured out if that is a bad thing, yet.

Don't remind me about "sperm bandits". The woman I was seeing prior to meeting my wife, approached me with a friend of hers who wanted a child (the friend, BTW, was supposedly bisexual, but as far as I could see, she was a lesbian. . ..). They even offered me a threesome, as long as I got her pregnant. (the girlfriend told me originally that she used to be bi. . . apparently she wanted to be again as well. . .)
I got out of that relationship so fast, there were skid marks. And then got chastised by all of her friends for being "closed-minded". . . .
