I was running a professional photo lab in Toronto in 1976. I saw a couple of shots from the Viking lander, one of the nearby rocks, the other of sunrise on Mars. I called NASA and asked about getting slides of them. They said they normally didn't send them outside the US, but after we talked a while, they did.

Cutting to the chase, I made 4x5 internegatives of the two slides and 30x40 color enlargements that looked dynamite on the wall. Those were exciting times.

They were, and if the President is taking the right advice, those times are about to return.
