Any team that beats the Iggles is my second-favorite team. Go Pack!

What is wrong with Timmy lately? Has Bowen been coaching him on free throws?

251: I hope you're right; however, the Pack probably has about the same shot of beating Philly as the Seahawks did of beating the pack.

31-20 Philadephia.

outcome was anti-climactic (you know, the team that's already won winning again

I'm not sure what you're talking about; The Packers last won the Superbowl eight years ago in 1996, and last won the NFC six years ago, in 1998. Prior to 1996, they had not been to the Superbowl since 1968.

Well...Green Bay beat San Francisco...and San Francisco beat Philedelphia.

And that was BEFORE Green Bay became hot.

I can't imagine skating like that for around 6 hours . . .

You're not kidding.

During the Stanley Cup playoffs, it is not uncommon for players to lose about 20 pounds between the start of the playoffs and the end of the finals. And these guys don't exactly have any weight to give up in the first place.

Give it a shot. Ice skating may be difficult, but you can start on in-line skates outside in the spring. Fantastic exercise, and much better for your body than running, too (less pounding on your knees and ankles).

I swear my heart's still racing after Harris' TD. When they reran it on the 5 o'clock local news, it was still one of those OH WOW! moments.

Holmgren's post game interview was funny--what a whiner. First he complained about being cheated (something about Ahman), then he said something about broken hearts (or something like that) in the locker room. Boo frickin' hoo. Harris' interview was pretty cool. You could see he wanted to just burst with pride and say, "WOOO HOOO," but Coach Sherman probably told the team to cool it.

And poor Matty--say you're going to score on the coin toss--and have it heard by everyone in the stadium (he sounded like he was barely out of his teens). Duh. When Brett did his post-game interview, he said, essentially, that's Matt. He didn't roll his eyes.

I remember Holmgren's quote now. He said he was "dying inside," as well as the whole Seahawks lockerroom.

I feel his pain (chortle chortle chortle).

I wish I had seen those interviews! Missed Holmgren's post-game - I just saw some of the local Seattle guys talking to Matt and a couple other Seahawks in the hallways of Lambeau, and it was all basically positive with a hint of disappointment. Matt said Green Bay was a "classy" team.

Local post-game sports show was all pretty positive. (They're happy just to make the playoffs in Seattle.) They were sure that remark of Matt's at the toss was going to be hard to live down, though. : )

For me, there's nothing like seeing Favre run around like a little kid with his arms in the air, hugging every team mate in his path...I can't get enough of that!

DYING inside? Wow. Then again, he looked like he was after that INT...and he could have been a little more gracious when he shook Sherman's hand, imo. I expected him to at least look the guy in the eye and offer a sincere congratulations. It was tacky.

WLUK (channel 11 in Green Bay), the Fox affiliate, has a local post-game show with one of their sports guys and former Packer Johnnie Gray. They show the post-game interviews--parts of them--from the Packers interview room and a few of the Packers will come back out onto the field to talk to them (unless another network is showing the game--then they're in the studio). Oh, and Kid Rock was at the game--he said he & some pals were in Detroit on Saturday & came over to see the Packers win. He scored tickets in one of the luxury boxes. And Brett explained that his whole family usually comes up for one game a year and this was it (and that his mom doesn't like the cold).

You DO miss a lot not living in Green Bay :-))

Ya know, at first I thought Mike McKenzie had the INT because of the hair, but damn, I love those pictures of Al Harris (and he knew that QB wasn't gonna catch him).

Did you see LeRoy Butler--who invented the Lambeau Leap-- on the sidelines before the game?

And for some reason, those dolts at Fox thought the combo of Holmgren and Rhodes would beat the Pack, pregame and during the game (I wanted to smack Terry Bradshaw, but I usually feel that way everytime I see him). Oh, and Fox Sports just ran the "I'm dying inside" quote from Holmgren. I just can't see that enough--that, and Holmgren bending over in defeat. And Brett going wild after every TD. He still has the exhuberance of a little kid when he's playing the game.

Oh, the only thing I wasn't able to do was see the Blackhawks flying over Lambeau, but I heard them. And the guys from the 432nd home on leave from Iraq were exhuberant after the game--the Packers gave the unit 50 tickets to the game, and boy, were they grateful (but they looked soooo cold).

Nope, nothing ("nothing" meaning "the Packers") until 9 for me, either. But I can't wait to see Harris' TD again.

My hubby, being a smart man, moved far away from me as soon as he saw Harris' INT. Why? Because he valued his eardrums and wanted to preserve his arm from my celebratory punches.

LOL

As exciting as it was (and it was!) I think we were screaming louder LAST week, when Poole caught the pass in Arizona.

Speaking of whom, I wonder how his day went....didn't hear too much......I know he was at the game...

There was a crowd waiting for Poole and his wife when they landed at Austin-Straubel airport. When he went to the Titletown Brewery, the crowd sang, "For he's a jolly good fellow" for he (and his wife's) benefit. I haven't seen anything on today's events, but the mayor was taking him to church with him, then to dinner at the Schmitt residence, then to some sports bars. Today, he was supposed to be at a tailgate party at Brett Favre's Steak House then onto the game (he was supposed to sit in the stands, next to the mayor, but it may have been too cold for him).

You know, Nathan Poole may be our lucky charm. I wonder if he wants to go to the Philly game next weekend.
