Sorry to hear you're under the weather. Local hospitals are very busy--a good time to stay at home and away from the germs, anyway.

Let's daydream about the cozy Tolkein dinner theatre we will build and run, complete with Elvish cordial and hot fresh lembas.

I try to have some benefit-of-a-doubt for parents of infants. Not everyone has been as blessed with babysitting resources as we were. And they may well have picked a movie time when Junior USUALLY is asleep — and that plan backfires.

However, my sympathy ends when the child cries or fusses, and the parent refuses to take him out.

I'm really sorry. I've had one really wretched audience experience, and a couple so-so. You'd think the length would weed out the orcs; but no. So I comfort myself that their money is helping boost ROTK, in spite of themselves. Not a lot of comfort, but some.

Something I never realized until I read tolkiens letters was that Frodo and Bilbo are going to the West to try to heal BEFORE THEY DIE, that they remain mortal and are trying to put themselves somewhat back together before their end. I never was clear on this from the book itself.
