It is. I've read that the Nile River, and others, flowing into the Med, probably looked like the Grand Canyon during the last Ice Age when the worlds oceans were 300-500ft lower.
Now, look at the map in post #5 and you'll see that the Med was blocked off from the world's oceans, which means, it probably dried out even further during that period. Lots of opportunities for flood stories, huh?
