Benny Hen just laid her second egg! And guess what else? Puffy started squatting...BIG TIME! She always runs away when I go to pick her up, but just now I went to pet her and she squatted clear to the ground!

Cool! You're gonna have more eggs than you know what to do with!

For the others, how long was it between their starting to squat and actual laying?

i don't remember with Roy...wasn't it something like 13 days? I remember I did a countdown!

Benny has been squatting for a long time...several weeks. But we put a light in their coop to help them stay warm and it's tricked them into thinking it's spring (longer hours). The light comes on automatically at dusk and goes off at dawn. I'm not surprised that Puffy is now wanting to lay...however, jar jar shows no sign...still as flighty and nervous as ever.
