To: HairOfTheDogJ. didn't get to the Berlin premiere because he had to work this week on "Princess Diaries Deux", but he flew out late last night to get to the London open. If we had made the Berlin prem, you can be sure there would have been headlines about Gimli calling Aragorn an ungrateful, uninformed, friend of our enemies. J. probably would have thrown a punch or two, so it's better he wasn't there.Don't think Viggo gives a crap about his fan base or the movie or his career. He thinks he's a "poet" first, then a "painter" and "photographer" and finally...an actor. He also thinks he'll use LOTR to promote his poetry and paintings. That's what an airhead he is. I just hope their big mouths don't turn so many people off that it affects the movie.
In spite of Jackson's personal feelings, he shot the story as Tolkien told it so it still contains God, patriotism and the triumph of good over evil...no matter what they say to deny it.
Hi Deb.... reposting your reply here because we appreciate the news and the sentiment, but we had picked up and moved to this new thread before you answered!
Thanks! I was just looking at the pics from the London Premiere.... Bless Viggo's heart, he wore the same UN shirt to the London premiere.... the airline must've lost his luggage! He is wearin' the same clothes he wore at Wellington!
Exqueeze me? A sequel? Wahooo! The first was absolutely delightful. We need many more sweet little movies like that. If JRD is in it- well, that's a double bonus. Big'ol_Freeper and I are both big fans.
(we were taking bets about him wearing shoes)
