I think you know we live not very far from the intersection of 183 & 620. There's now an HEB, a Super Wal-Mart, a Super Target, and a large mall all within 5 minutes drive of that intersection. Makes shopping very convenient!

Where the HEB is there at that intersection is not where it was when I lived there. I used to shop there when I lived out on Lake Travis. It was the closest grocery store to Hudson Bend. Now there's something right there at Lakeway - was a Tom Thumb, I think it's something else now. At Lohman's Crossing and 620.

But, back then, there was only a smaller HEB and a K-Mart at that intersection. The other 3 corners had nothing! It is a madhouse now! Then, it was WAY out in the country. Not even that many people lived in Cedar Park or Leander then! They were still both small towns out of Austin! Hard to imagine now huh?

Oh, and 620 was 2 lane most of the way to the lake. And we still drove over the dam to get around. There was only that small winding road with the low water crossing below the dam.

yeah yeah yeah... and i know... jill walked for miles in the snow to school - uphill both ways of course
