Ham Shack is the term used for a Ham (Amateur) Radio station. In the old days, the equipment was so large it would often be located in a separate shed out back. New equipment is much smaller, but the name survives.
This is my latest radio, built about a year ago.
It's 8 inches square.

I didn't know you were a ham radio operator.
My best friend in the fishing club is one, there is a hugh antenna outside his house, and he has a "radio room" in his garage, which includes a world clock.
He's a retired physics prof, from UM, and admits to being a "socialist," as you'd expect, sadly. But a wonderful human, anyway, who loves the ocean and the outdoors.
