4-5 months! wow!
I will not hold my breath then!
How wet should I keep the dirt? - Being in a bucket, it won't drain... it is moderately wet. I can punch a hole in the bottom if it wants drained soil.
It isn't ON a heat vent but near one... It is sitting on a milk crate. I spose in summer I will move it outside.

Well, the "Grow it indoors" book says sandy soil, kept constantly moist, if you have any, warm partial sun is handy. :-) That would really be neat, a coconut palm from entmoot alive and well in the Pacific NW.

Great job on the collage!
On the palm I would think lotsa water and lotsa warm. A lamp on it for those months might be good.
I've told ya about my talking Gollum for Christmas, and the talking Bush my son game me. Hilarious, the kids faced them together with the humorous Bush speaking and Gollum responding, then the serious Bush speaking and Smeagol responding in conversations. Almost seems deliberately dialogued.
