Well, Walmart has done it now. They got rid of my harvest blend bagels completely. Replaced them with "Atkins Diet" bagels. Lord help me...spray me with a hose. Those Atkins Diet bagels look about as tasty as the sole of a shoe.
Lady at the checkout told me I could special order the bagels. This true? It's a bakery item and I wouldn't think they'd special order a bakery item!

speaking of austin ..... any opinions about relocating to that area???
we're considering it ...
any special local surrounding cities or good places to live??
To: proud_2_B_texasgal
Chock full of liberals. Was the only county in Texas (I believe) that voted for Gore. Don't move there. Move to Tulsa! It's much like Austin, only conservative!

To: 2Jedismom
Heh, there comes a point on the Atkins diet when you would kill for shoe-sole bagels.

LOL They are mighty tasty, these eggs...so fresh that they don't spread out when you cook 'em. They cook up almost like slightly flattened balls!

Could I have your flight info? I'd like to monitor it...just for fun. So I'll know when you get there. I need to locate mine!
I also need to get phone numbers for at least some people...don't have any right now, and in case things go wrong or we end up delayed, I should probably have a few...is there a phone at the Castle, too?

I was too young to appreciate eggs when we had chickens in my youth. ;-(

It will seem harsh to her, but I am going to insist that she at least work while in school. She'll feel like she'll have invested. If'n my oldest boy doesn't get the football scholarship he wants, I'm strongly suggestin' he join the military first.
To: RosieCotton
Earlier... ask her to send it to you. Oh, and give us your info, too...

Was it e-mail or freepmail? I don't have either, but just wondered.

Rose and I enjoy living in Austin... the liberals provide plenty of opportunities for us to point at and laugh.
West side of town (that is, west of I-35) is generally considered more "up-scale" than the East side of town. And, Williamson County (to the north of Austin) is *very* conservative, with a lot of nice smaller towns that are still close to Austin, such as Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Leander. Those towns generally have better school districts than Austin, too.
Pflugerville is a nice smaller town too, although it's still in Travis Co. It's just northeast of Austin.

Lady at the checkout told me I could special order the bagels. This true? I honestly have no idea. We buy our bagels at "Einstein Brothers."

Military's prolly good for most boys. Maybe not all.
Sometimes I see people suggesting mandatory service for all the yuts of America... not necessarily military... maybe for a lot it would be a good thing, but man, I'd have hated that. I've known what I wanted since I was fifteen, I wouldn't want to have had years of unrelated stuff on top of my college edukatin.
