Yep...she's your SIL! LOL

I'm doing laundry...trying to catch up from all the dreary days. The weather fortune tellers said that Sat. was going to be a pretty day, so I intended to do the wash then...of course it rained and drizzled all day.

My best friend has 2 daughters, Leah and Sarah.
Very Hebrew names.

Jeanne and I couldn't think what to name our son, even 2 days after his birth (24 years ago). Then a hurricane bore down on us, we named him after it, David.

Yep, that's my thought.

Mindless little robots they are.

But I think she was afraid of getting into trouble if she didn't follow instructions to the letter.

My mom was determined to name us all after Biblical characters, so she ended up with three boys named John, Joseph, and Matthew.

Jr's given name is "James." He was pretty insistent that his brother be named "John." Turns out we did that with John Lucas, but not just because it's what Jr. wanted.

Heh...when our church was still doing our HUGH productions at Easter, one of the main songs was the mother of James and John "The Sons of Thunder" singing to Jesus about "My Boys."

Jr. was 8 when we were first involved. He was describing something the actress who played their mother. Said to the Mrs. "You know, she plays 'Thunder.'" Made sense to him.

This is not so weird. My husband grew up in North Carolina (Corin and his wife are likely very familiar with our last name, starts with B?), and his grandfathers are cousin's. If you go to his father's family reunion, the last name of half of the people there is his mother's maiden name.

"Publik skool indoctrination."

I remember back in college days, in the 60's, reading where Timothy Leary referred to public schools as "State Brainwashing Institutions." Maybe the weirdo had something there.

My mom was determined to name us all after Biblical characters,

Adam, Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephram, Frank (short for "frankicense".)

It seems to me to be a very efficient way of going about things!

Now...we just have to find the Gamgees, and we'll be all set...

Heh...I was wondering how long it would take for that to come up.

And Gideon, of course.

And then Hannah.

lol...I once sent my brother-in-law to Home Depot when we were moving. Gave him a list of supplies to pick up...nails, rope, joint compound, etc.

He was gone a good 2 hours, when he finally came back, he said, "Joe, I got almost everything on your list, but I couldn't find the '10 Yards of Chowline' you needed."

Heh...got me a good chuckle out of that.

Just gotta keep the tank full and a few emergency things in the back.

Are you sure you have enough anti-freeze in it? I know you just bought it, and the dealer may not have filled it from last year.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, Marigold is the youngest child in the Gamgee family?

she plays 'Thunder

Cute. James is my father's and older brother's name, and my nephew the third. Good name that.

Does it have anything to do with furniture?

My grandparents were second cousins. Not all that uncommon in those days. But a brother and sister married their second cousin sister and brother...gets a bit complicated.

'Course now my uncle is my step-dad and my cousin is my sister...but that's another story.

Yep. Don't think I remember the seven brides' names. Julie Newmar was "Dorcas."
