Or "Wallace and Grommit".

Got those, too! Albeit on VHS. For the young...and not so young...

As I was taking Joshua to school, Matthew looked out the car window and sighed at our dusting of snow..."What I want is some arctic devastation", is what he said.

Huh. If this whiner gets his way, some of ROTK's competition might be scotched with the lefty Oscar voters.

I think if I'd had a little girl, I would have named her Rowan.

I think it's pretty.

OK, now I'm feelin' kinda cranky.

Just went to go fix the printer in Student Activities...these are the folks that deal with concerts and such. I spent quite a bit of time there, but finally got the durned thing working. While I was there, someone came in for tickets to a concert on Friday, and I was reminded that I'd like to go to that one. Soo...I asked the work study there if I could get a ticket, though my ID was in my office. She said no. Now...I'm thinkin', fine, they probably need a number off of it or something...and I had to go and ask if that was the case.

Answer was no - they just have to confirm that you're you and work for the college. I pointed out I wouldn't be there fixin' the printer if I wasn't, but she said no way.

Why can't people use common sense? I mean...I want to go to that concert, probably, but not enough to spy on IT so I know the student activities printer is broken, learn printers, learn the admin password, go over and pose as someone from IT. I gots better things to do.

Granted, this is probably the kids first job. But you'd think logic would prevail.

Whine over. I'll just go over with ID later...still kinda bugs me, though.

I remember first watching "A Close Shave" with one of my ex's and a few friends. When the lady said that the little sheep's name was "Shawn", I cracked up laughing...apparently I was the only one who "got it".

Funny enough, that was one of the names we were thinking about for Autumn. Rowan Raelia. Brooke-Lynn was another.

If she were a boy, the name would have been either Liam Russell or Logan Russell.

Shoulda figgered out a way to print yer own ticket!

We had a similar thing yesterday when we went to pick up the van. Had it in for service (had dropped it off Sunday nite). Got a call that the rear brakes were just barely gonna pass inspection, so told 'em to go ahead. He said they'd have it done yesterday.

What he DIDN'T tell me was that they were closing at three. I called at 2:35 to see if it was done and found out they were closing. We rushed there to get it, but they were "closed." They were gonna give it to us, but I pulled the checkbook out and had no checks (and knew until we went to the bank - next stop - that the debit card wouldn't hold it).

We were left with the option of having to go back this a.m. and get it at 7:30 when they opened. A problem cause the wife works at Walmart on Tuesdays.

We ran into a manager-looking type on the way out who said "How are you folks doing."

Heh...he didn't want to ask that. We ended up driving the van home and I took a check back and put it thru their mailbox.

Like the Brooklyn bridge?

Worst name for a girl I ever heard was Mae-Marie...

Sounds too much like mammary.

I have often found it to be the case that people who fail to use common sense are stupid.

Did he read the book? It is a film adaptation of the book. The book wasn't about slavery and the plight of aframericans in the Civil War. There are other books out there that are about that. Someone could make a movie about one of them maybe?

"This has less to do with 'Cold Mountain' per se than Hollywood missing another prime opportunity to tell some truth," Dellums said recently"

Very funny quote, considering Hollywood's record on truth and accuracy. I have noticed missed opportunities in the past. Like in every movie ever made, just about.

hee, for a boy's name we were sure right away. Good thing my son was a boy. We couldn't think of a girls name at all. We would have ended up with Estaluna June. Dont' ask me why. My husband invented the name, and I was gonna go with it?? Yeah.
