I kinda like Chief O'Brien, but they also did some really weird stuff with him later on. I think that wasn't until DS9, though.

There was a TNG episode with a race of really stupid aliens, do you recall them? That, and the Ferengi, are like what the Federation would think about Hobbits.
However it's interesting to imagine Picard dealing with Elves. Whose face would freeze fastest?

I kinda liked him too...he actually did something besides stand around and talk. But he's a bit too much on the serious side. I stopped watching DS9 right after Worf joined the cast. That major what's-her-face got on my last nerve.

I never really watched DS9, it was too mystic-freaky for me. Watched Voyager for a while but gave up. TNG was the best. Original had its moments. Like the tribble episode.
