The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Good luck with the attic!

Steve left his pager here...and it's raining. All these automatic rainwater collection stations are paging him one right after another.

Now the first problem with this is because I don't have any sound location ability (everything sounds like it's coming from over there to the left), it took me FOREVER to find the beeper.

The second problem is I didn't know how to turn the thing off! It's beepin' the whole time and my hands are shakin' and I'm trying to figure it out! I didn't want it to wake up the boys! I want a bit of time to drink my coffee and freep, you know??

Finally figured it out...

I have to set them out at a specific time before getting into bed.
Otherwise she freaks out.
No clue WHY the cat does this, maybe she's obsessive/codependant.

I've only see it the once, and only remember Gollum falling into Mt. Doom, Sam and Frodo's super fun slide down the side of Mt. Doom, the running with the orcs before that, and part of Aragorn singing "Frodo of the 9 fingers"..

FF could be the best Marvel movie of all... or the worst.

Agreed. Although, they've done a pretty decent job with the two X-Men movies that have been released. I hope they carry that all the way...it could become a huge franchise.

Have you seen the Roger Corman production of Fantastic Four?

LOL...*groan*...it was only SLIGHTLY better than Dolf Lundgren as The Punisher, and David Hasslehoff as Nick Fury.

Awww...it's always such a tragedy to see pets wither away like that due to old age.

Honestly, I first thought the name B.C. was a reference to her age.

heh...I have an action figure of The Thing on my desk at work.

I think it serves as a mild threat to my co-workers...it lets them know I'm only two steps away from "Clobberin' time!!"

Mooters - My your travels be light, and your vehicles be swift! Stay safe!

I woke up at 5am, saw that the outside temp was -5 degrees, and called out sick today. Unfortunately, I don't have Monday off due to MLK Day (got mlk?), so I'm only working a 3 day weekend. I have so much I need to get done this weekend, and the weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate. It's so cold here.

"How cold is it?"

It's so cold, I just saw my neighbor picking up after his dog with an ice-cream scooper!

ba-da-bing!

Whacking it with a rubber mallet ought to do the trick...

LOL, You know, at home my computer that is still defunct has all my 'clip and play with pics' stuff on it. If I had that to play with, I would clip the heron from Entmoot and put it there on Mars.

She's a good girl. That's Benny Hen and she's the one that used to stand between my feet and coo while I hung the clothes on the line. (She's fenced in away from the clothes line and can't anymore, poor girl.)

She loves to cuddle with me! Really amazing, even to me, that a chicken could be so affectionate!

Ruh roh! Gadget Dad!!

Well, I took Elf-boy to school and had pancakes. I left looking like Santa toting a large trash bag full of coffee cans.

I'd rather know that I'm having a positive impact on some kids, than have to look back in a few decades, and think, "if only I had....
