There is no doubt that many strange things are seen in the sky. I have seen (on documentaries) some things that I would LOVE to study in detail; very strange.
However, this does NOT imply alien visitation.
If aliens are visiting us, what makes them so shy? Why the dozens or hundreds of differently-shaped and differently-moving spacecraft?
Why not just land on the White House Lawn and give the "Take me to your leader" line?
Also, interstellar travel is so difficult as to make their evident shyness and penchant for "abductions" even more difficult to swallow.
Why come all this way just to play hide-and-seek?

There are a number of plausible answers to your questions.
I would be very interested in your response to his book. I might even be interested enough in your response and Poohbah's response to pry loose some of my scarce funds to send you a copy--if you'd actually read it.
Was just reading some more of it last night. He sounds exceedingly like someone who has experienced the contacts and reports he's describing. As one who has thousands of interviewer hours under his belt, it is inconceivable to me that the author of that book is not largely telling the truth as he knows it, construes it.
And the implications are not minor.
A lot of assumptions will be biting the dust in the next decade or 3. A lot of assumptions and 'realities' as we have known them.
But that doesn't surprise me that much. Given the umpteen Biblical prophecies which have come true already, it's a no brainer that the rest of them will also come true. That they seem to be scheduled to mostly conclude in our lifetime is certainly an interesting fact.

Certainly Almighty God has His hands on the clock of history.
I think that's the ultimate answer as to why not X or Y before this or now.
I also have very mixed feelings about the Disclosure project.
I believe, as I read last night that Greer does--I've felt for more than a decade or 3 . . . that once the ET stuff is in the open, it is fruit-basket upset in terms of world affairs. Virtually nothing will be able to remain the same.
That's a lot of change. Economics alone would be massively changed.
The main reason so much reluctance abounds . . .
POWER.
Those currently controlling it are loathe to share it. The ostensible leaders are sufficiently manipulated to the power elite's satisfaction.
Globalism is well on track.
That's another disturbing thing about the Disclosure project, the rush, the press to globalism would likely be unstoppable with the ET stuff becoming public. No other alternative would be evident or seem workable.
Some insist that it is ET's who insist on the secrecy. That they would not be able to carry on all the not so wonderful stuff they do once things are in the open. Greer sees them as benign to helpful. I disagree.
Greer himself notes that we have developed back engineered technologies sufficiently that we are successfully destroying ET craft in space. He wonders plausibly how long the ET's will allow that to go on since they ARE still quite advanced way beyond us technologically.
Interesting things to ponder.
