Oh, ol' Tom turkey is stewing in his own skin at the moment.
And soon the vengeance begins...

Over the river and through the wood
My Grandkids ride a truck,
They have a horse
He stays home of course
He won't fit in the back.

Yes, I've been walking around aimlessly since last night.
Is there any antidote for it, I'll need to sleep at some point.....: )

return to post 97 et al for the rest of...
A TURKEY SONG
verse 4,5,6 of 14
He travels the neighborhood afar
His sustenance to get;
But like the Prohibitionist,
He doesn't like the wet.
His raucous voice the echoes wakes
In accents loud and shrill;
He sings his song most cheerfully,
But its pleasing effect is nil.
With lordly mien and haughty crest
With visage fiery red,
He struts among the brnyard fowl
With calm,majestic tread.

Antidote?
Sam may know, or Diver Dave.
I haven't needed one since I'm immune to my own coffee.
But I am told that soda will soothe your stomach from it's current feeling of having been mugged.
Though I'd also recommend some hot chocolate.

A TURKEY SONG
verse 7 of 14 (my fav)
Some prate about his plumage fair,
And some,how well he's bred;
These points will tell;but as for me,
I like him best when dead.

Oh, thank you, SpookBrat ! :O) Ying and I went to my cousin's house for Thanksgiving lunch and just got back. Dad was there and he brought his brother and his wife too. We had a nice visit and great food too ...
I am WAY behind in my replies, as you can tell, lol! Beautiful Jim Reeves song too. Thanks. He has such a beautiful voice.
I remember in 1964 when Dad was shipped off to Goose Bay, Labrador and Thule, Greenland and we had to stay here. Mom would stay up after sending us to bed and iron clothes and play Jim Reeves records. I always thought she liked Jim Reeves, but years later I found out that she played them because Dad loved his singing. I now know that it was because she missed him and being off for so long was hard on her and she played them because she missed him.
Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving Day, Miss SpookBrat ! My regards to Tim and the little ones ...

Thank you for the lovely thread!

God of the earth, the sky, the sea,
Maker of all above, below!
Creation lives and moves in Thee,
Thy present life through all doth flow.
We give thee thanks, Thy name we sing,
Almighty Father, heavenly King.
Thy love is the sunshine's glow,
Thy life is in the quickening air;
When lightnings flash and storm-winds blow,
There is Thy power, Thy law is there.
We feel Thy calm at evening's hour,
Thy grandeur in the march of night;
And when Thy morning breaks in power,
We hear Thy word, "Let there be light."
- Samuel Longfellow

Thank you for the warm Thanksgiving greetings. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I had to step away for awhile. The kitchen was calling. Company just left and I found room in refrig for the left-overs.
Did you watch the Pres being greeted by the troops this morning? What a moving sight!
