Sugaring Off
I drew your likeness
from the pitcher
of hot maple syrup,
poured upon the snow
that I had fixed
and patted into
a white receiving bed.
And you curled around
this cold support
for my poor art
the armature of you,
made you, of sugar
more than sugar.
And I lifted you to
my lips once again,
and sweet it was
to know the liquid
moment when
Spring melting
moved the sap
and the snow
had turned to rain.

Landsat
Our fingers traced
a silk route
upon each other's skin
and marked a track through
the restless satin dunes
arranged upon the pillow.
Our abandoned trading
leaving our path erased
by seasons storms
and contracts but
still visible from
the farthest point
to which we retreated
from that discovered place
And the shape of our
journey each from each
we will read from
a distance unerased
until the plates clash
and the mountains are
born again.

you raise me up
an oasis in the desert
no on comes ...
press on ...
an orchid blooming at night
no one to see
press on ...
fragrance in the air
breathe ...
To: geologist; January24th; Kay Syrah; Camachee
breathe the fragrance
of the gathering of poets
a melding of the muse
a change is coming
that will bind the winds
and our songs will
ring across the lands

Ooooooh! Sigh.
To: geologist
an orchid blooming at night
Such a nice thought!

"...to be or not..."
yesterday's poison
best permeates
a blank sheet
writing a history
of hopefulness
but lacking
a tomorrow

in darkened silence
we discovered
the gasp
grasp
litanny
of an open eyed
lapse
into luxury

ah luxury
titillating itch
beyond reach to sate
...................
warmth emanates
deep, long sighs
silken skin to skin
satin sheets ... rum drinks
ocean waves echoing
beating of the hearts ...
raging ...
priceless

Road work
The asphalt steamed
a fragrant excuse
to cover the winter's
potholed statements.
Rolled and smoothed
we fooled around
the scent of repair
and the summer
of opportunity
and hot stuff
filled the empty
moments with a musk
that steamed the night
and foiled the heave
of frost while we
waited for the signal
for the single lane
to proceed.

to rhinestone
tones
blue and cosmetic
an habitue
of rum rhythm
day dreams
unconcerned
with consequences
until sleep

a coupla ditty's for tax day.
I sit and think
of Caesar's due
and dollars sent
and what they do
but I cannot
get any back
but if i were
in Iraq
I'd beat this tax
form with my shoe.
Epitaphery
Today is such a dreary jam,
I'm looking for my lost iamb.
An ewer where to pour my soul
but not o'er fill and lose control.
And if a word I seek, I must
to use would make a strong trochee,
I can simply work a bridge,
and there do 'sert apostrophe.
I would, I should make fair amend,
for the image I would send
into use not meant for love
but beats the hell out of turtle dove.
If in my grammer wends a tick,
I shall beat it with a stick,
and make it sing in harmony,
its not a crime for crimeny.
But thoughts that weave and dodge and rend
can be subdued without amend
a little space for metope
a frieze for all humanity.
But strong forms really the maker
and to my task my back I bend
I, poesy's undertaker,
I know I'll get it in the end.

Bwahahahaha!!!
Here's mine:
My home, in state of disrepair
my prospects looming gloomy
a future filled with need and care
and my purse too roomy
My children fight and grab and cry
they think they know it all
they'd spread their wings and take to sky
if they weren't afraid to fall
My union's state is fragile, too
and ruled by indecision
food-for-toil is tough to do
and neighbors voice derision
And so my tax day prayer, please hear:
Lord, let me be a little nation!
I'd welcome an invasion here--
Rebuild MY hopeless situation!
To: January24th
Bwahahahaha!!!!
read Lewis Carroll
on tax day at your peril
thru the glass darkly.

LOL J24....
Here's mine
I'm taxed to death on this day
if I had an axe I'd swing
at the IRS today,
but hey
we pay our taxes
in the good ole US of A....

It's really a dirty low shame
That the government robs in our name
They tax and they spend it
Can someone PLEASE end it
Prosperity isn't a game
