Now those jobs are being done by illegals and kids are too d****d spoiled to actually work for anything. That aside, I think it is much harder to make it now because the government is in everything you do. That puts severe restrictions on the entrepreneurial spirit.

When I was a kid, we all got jobs when we were old enough. My sisters worked in the fields, and in the fruit packing sheds (I didn't because my allergies really flared up). I cleaned houses and babysat. Imagine that - American kids doing field work. I don't see a lot of kids doing that kind of work these days. We also helped out our parents in their business, doing inventory, stocking shelves, and running the cash register.
