I've really enjoyed the discoveries I've made in my family research. My favorite story is of my grandpa's great-grandfather who crossed the Cumberland Gap with Daniel Boone. He was captured by the Shawnee. They were a brutal tribe and few white men who were captured survived. They found him to be so entertaining that they kept him for 5 years and released him. In an unrelated incident, his young son was also captured by the Shawnee and later released.
