Well the Plummer came and it would only cost $500 to pull the toilet off and snake the drain .. but that it would be better to also replace the toilet with a new one .. It would only be a few hundred more dollars

I looked at him and said I could do that for a hell of a lot less

Groan .. looks like I'll be heading to Home Depo this afternoon

I think I can figure out how to take it off

Anyone have any hints on how to put a toilet back on??

Step by step toilet replacement here

Our maintenance people use a water blaster that attaches
to the end of a garden hose
and power pulses out the stoppage.

Be sure to get a new wax sealing ring. They don't come with the toilet, but it will definitely leak at the floor if you don't use a new one.
