What is an old time Californio vs mainland mexicans?

Baja was settled by mainly the Jesuits...They brought over soldiers, tradesmen, servants, etc...The Jesuits were expelled by the Spanish King and the Franciscans took over. They built one adobe mission, but Baja was to tough for them so they moved on to Alta California, our California. The Dominicans took over from them and built a few adobe missions...The Mission period was about over. The Indians having died off from desease the mission system collapsed...The ex soldiers, servants, trades people, etc founded ranches up in the mountains where their decendants live to this day...They are called Californios...This is a very short simplified history...Read the books if you can...
