Who cares? If we spent all our time worrying about that we wouldn't have time to do anything else.

Anti Americanism has existed since the revolution and will continue to exist despite what we do.

Those that hate us need a boogeyman to blame for their own and the worlds ills. It's easy to point the finger at the folks on the top of the hill since they're the easiest to see.

Just take a look at who it is that is expressing the anti-American sentiment..Marxists, communists, socialists, jahadis, Leninists and every other anti-democracy crazy out there. Does that really worry you?

Absolutely not. The USA didn't get to be the number one power in the world by worrying about what others think of us.

Write your paper as it should be written by praising the USA for all it has done to free the peoples of the world and the fact we are STILL involved in that process. Read back over our history and see all we have done for the good of others and our own country as well.

Worry about overseas sentiment? Not a chance. God bless America!!!

Wow, you're way ahead of the curve on this one.

Nothing like being able to spot a new trend before anyone else.

Keep your finger on that pulse, kid...

I would not be worried about anti-americanism abroad, unless I planned an oversees trip to a particularly rabid country.

I have travelled extensively to places such as the Soviet Union, South Africa, and throughout Europe.

The ONLY place I felt shunned as an American was in Paris, France. Some folks we met would simply refuse to talk to us.

The people in the USSR were very friendly, even though I was there when Reagan was in office and the Cold War was in full effect. The people in South Africa, black and white, were very friendly and curious about Americans. I think they sensed that we had overcome the lion's share of our race problems and were hoping that their country could learn from our past and move toeard a similar future.

I doubt I'll be going back to Paris anytime soon-- I know where I'm not wanted.

go to RickSteves.com Check out the graffiti board posted by those who have gone abroad. Most say they haven't encountered any problems in Europe.

Check out this article: http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/taheri200311181102.asp

It basically explains who the "anti-Americans" are, and how they're basically Commies, anarchists, etc. They're not the general populations of foreign nations, and they don't represent popular opinion.

Does it matter if we are 'popular'? Isn't that the topic Junior High parents discuss with their children? You are very rarely popular if you: (1) Are not conformist; (2) Have your own ideas (see #1); (3) Have the COURAGE to stand for what you believe; (4) See things clearly; (5) Are willing to name Evil for what it is. It is good to have enemies -- it means you stand for something. Is it better to not speak out? No, it is only safer. Many people and many countries prefer to hide their heads in the sand (aka 'denial') than to stand up and be counted. It is always the way. That you are hated, by the way, does not mean you are WRONG.

Take one hour and read through Mona Charen's book Useful Idiots and you will see that anti-Americanism, both here and at home, is NOT new.

The left have been bashing America since time began including our involvement during WWII.

You could quickly read the book and write a most excellent article.

The country, like any individual, has a choice: go along with the "in" crowd and do what is popular, or do the right thing. Just like most have heard from their mothers, if all of your "friends" jumped off a bridge, does that mean you should too?

Perskonally, with the exception of the Brits and Aussies, I'd tell the rest of the planet to buzz off.

History shows that it's a wise idea for Americans to be wary of large gatherings of feverently cheering European political fanatics --- particularly Germans and Russians.

the only part that worries me about that is their sheer numbers... the intellect couldnt fill an eg shell, but there are billlions of them! worry about the back lash of their ignorance. but if talked to face to face, simply laught it off.

I don't think there are as many as the media want us to think. Have you ever seen the inflation of numbers in anti-war rallies or anti-Bush rallies? The leftist media want everyone to think that the number of those that hate us are way over what they really are. Just look at the numbers in London and who made up that mess. The media reported between 100,000 and 130,000 when in fact it was nearer to 30,000 to 50,000 of the furthest left wing nuts. Anarchists, communists, Leninists, jahadis, Marxists and on and on and on.

No. The America bashing is being done universally by the Leftist press. The citizens don't appear to feel that way when asked.

hmmm, thats true, but have you ever been online talking to people from other countries, and they realized you were from America, and started tearing into it? much of asia is like this, and most of China (though not openly so, for money and such) is like this. however, yes, the media is inflating the numbers, but also, that's only taking into consideration that no country with a McDonald's will attack us. they may still resent us though. i guess its just too abiguous to know for sure either way, and thats the way the medai likes it.
