That's a lovely poem - one of the best I've read about a child's need for a mother. This is a picture of my great-grandmother Saphronia who died within the week after my grandmother's birth in January 1910. I can imagine Grandma Mable having similar feelings.

Isn't it sad to realize how many children lost their mothers at that time. My great-grandmother died giving birth to a baby girl in 1903. She left 7 children; the oldest was 14.
