For the first time in a few months, I drove by the Pentagon Wednesday afternoon. The parking lot had lots of cars, more than I would expect to see on Christmas Eve. The Virginia State Police were out in force as were the Humvees, parked under tarps to keep the machine guns dry.
The crew in one hummer looked to be asleep; I sure it was a ruse to lure the enemy in. :)

I also noticed the entrance to Fort Marcy Park on the GW Parkway was gated shut.

Security has been tight at the Pentagon for a long time.

Armed Humvees always there, VA State Police always in force, the klieg lights to ID trucks (which are prohibited on 123), etc.

There are always cars in the lot on nights and weekends, but I'd be very surprised if there weren't more than normal considering the current alert status.
